Sunday School at Peace Lutheran Church begins at approximately 9:45 a.m. with a short opening program attended by children and adults alike in the Fellowship Hall and Kitchen. The opening includes a responsive reading, a song or hymn, an introduction to the lesson the children will be exploring and a closing prayer. Children are dismissed to their classes at approximately 10 a.m. If you are a guest, please see a Greeter, Elder, Usher or Director of Family Life Ministry, Elke Fehler for information on where you and/or your children will attend Sunday school.
Coffee, soft drinks and snacks are made available prior to the opening for $0.50 a piece. The money raised from sales goes to the Peace Youth Group.
Classes are available for children ages 4 through 18. The prekindergarten class meets in the main church building (in the Pre-K classroom to the left of the Sanctuary) while all other classes meet in the youth building. Assistance in finding the correct classroom is always available for visitors, please ask a Greeter or visit with the Director of Family Life Ministry, Elke Fehler in her office directly across from the Sanctuary.
All children's classes follow a carefully crafted "Growing in Christ" curriculum developed by Concordia Publishing House. Regardless of the age of the child, the goal at Peace Lutheran is for children to leave their Sunday School classrooms with the ability to tell their parents about the lesson that was studied.
Youth ages 7th-12th grade focus on various social and personal topics to better equip them with a strong Christian background to carry into their daily lives.
Adult Sunday School class is led by Pastor Stephen Rynearson.
Pastor Rynearson's class meets in the Fellowship Hall and usually features an in-depth and interactive study of the books of the Holy Bible.
